Round and Round and Round

Praise God Saints!

I praise God for yet another opportunity He has given me to write to you. I am saved today and the Lord has continued to be my everlasting portion. IN a simple way, I want to call your attention to a spiritual reality that is taking place among the Saints here in the US.

Do you remember how the Israelites went round and round the wilderness for 40years cause of disobedience against God? Because of this experience, many Christians continue to view going round and round and round as being punishment so that if one finds themselves doing something over and over again, then the first thought that comes to self is that perhaps God’s presence has left you and hence the going “round and round and round”.

In the US, the idea of “going round and round and round” is not new at all. For with the passing of every new day, many people find themselves repeating the same things over and over again. For instance, think of a typical day for you, isn’t not like you are in a never ending rollercoaster that spins round and round and round?! Then add your bills? Halfu pia usisahau those nagging debts? Honestly for those of us who never believed in buying things at ART, all this is another painful survival spiral!

And what about when it comes to helping folks in Jamu?, imagine how you have to really plan what to send cause it really affects your “surviving” budget and when you do send a few dollars, its like you have to work so hard that week so as to afford to even send a hundred bucks! The reality is that many a Saints seem to be going round and round and round without any real breakthroughs!

You would expect that your spiritual life would help wouldn’t you? Ohh Pastor Dagi don’t even go there you might be saying cause, what life used to be in Jamuhuri finds no comparison here for remember those lunch hour prayer meetings are long gone, and the kesha’s and the kilometric testimonies when you met another mulokoli; you know the type where you just keep going on and on like the energizer batteries that keep on going on and on and on… but what about now … because of the way things are, many have adapted their testimonies to a “summary of a summarized summary” which truly says that God is almost absent in our lives cause you know….

Saints, what about those who are really struggling with the different facets of life in the US e.g. chuo funds, disappointed love, “fallen spouses” and, and and…. The question that we all wrestle with is kwani -what actually happens when people reach here? Si its like going round and round and round such that even if one tells you to pray, you are like, tell me something else, cause I tried prayer lakini nothing worked out! And what about trusting God for this or that? Isn’t the list just endless??? It’s just like we swallowed “a merry go round pill” and now our lives are just a matter of endless and meaningless circumlocutions!

Ohh don’t you just wish that that the Lord Jehovah would command us as He commanded the Israelites “you have wandered long enough at this mountain, turn and set your journey and go…” [Deuteronomy 1:6-8]. Mmmmhh, Oh God is so gracious!

The more one thinks of the desperateness of our situation, the more the urgency for a divine intervention mounts. For instance think of the many Saints, who faithfully continue to wait upon God for miracles, but nothing seems forthcoming, and while others have continued to trust God for their families to come over… its just not happening to the point that they are almost giving up, if they haven’t already given up. Wengine are just so unfortunate in all that they undertake. And what about the many Pastors, who are trying very hard to walk in faithfulness without any breakthroughs in their ministries. Yes, they have done all that they need to do, but it’s just so hard!

Beloved, may I remind us that just because we seem to go round and round and round does not necessarily mean that we are being punished like the Israelites were in the wilderness [Numbers 14:22-24]. [for remember that Joshua and Caleb were faithful and yet they too went round and round and round] So if you would let me quickly show you that indeed your going round and round and round may infact be the means through which God is setting you up for a major Breakthrough as He did for Caleb and Joshua and the New Generation!

Remember God’s command to Joshua in Joshua 6, that they should go round and round and round the walls of Jericho -seven days and then seven times on the seventh day? That’s what I mean … Going round and round is not necessarily a sign of discipline BUT it could well be that YOUR GOING ROUND IS SO THAT GOD MAY GIVE YOU A MIGHTY VICTORY in the “Jericho stronghold” that you are going round about!!

Think about it Saints, Seven days of going round IN FAITH that God was going to bring down the Walls, the City, the King and the Armies of Jericho!

Wapendwa, God is about something great among us. Yes it may seem like we are just going round and round and round in our Faithful Christian walk with God … but so be it if that is How God wants to be glorified.

So therefore, Beloved, do not give up, just because you have continued to believe God, please don’t give up, indeed GO ROUND YET ANOTHER TIME till the Lord commands you to Shout for Victory. Before, then, just go round “in silence”.

And have you ever considered that as they marched round and round, the Jerichoans mocked and hurled curses on them? Remember too that the people of Jericho were not only well fortified, but they were also privileged to be above the Israelites who were down below! OHHH I’m getting excited! Saints, it doesn’t matter your earthly position, for IN Christ you are POSITIONED IN HIGH PLACES with Christ! And Ohh yes when you number of “rounds” is over, you will definitely take the stronghold that prevents you from your God given inheritance. So piga moyo konde and continue.

Let me also bring a very critical observation from this “going round march”. From Joshua 6, please note that the soldiers were strategically placed to go before and after the ark of the covenant. This buffed up as the security for the presence of the Lord.

Now with a view to protecting God’s presence, may I encourage all of you intercessors out there that likewise, you must not give up standing in the gap and protecting the presence of the Lord as the saints go round.

Then all of you worshippers and psalmists --please observe what was going on here, the trumpeters were to blow the horns and trumpets as the ark of he Lord marched round and round. And likewise, please dear worshippers --do not stop bringing creating the atmosphere of worship as we go round and round. And saints have your noticed that despite any “ukame or ukavu” the worshippers still write worship psalms! So blow the horns and don’t stop!

But what about the Pastors, Ohh dear colleagues, let us never ever fail to carry the ARK of God for we are greatly honored to serve God before God’s people na maze tusichoke for “Jericho” is ours! So lets obey and follow the Lord’s WORD faithfully till He comes Through for us – for our own Good and His own Glory! AMEN AND AMEN

Moving On Forward,

Bishop Dagi
