A Deadly Spirit

Brethren,

One of the many blessings that the Lord has allowed me is the privilege of meeting with the many saints in the various churches scattered all over the US. However in my travels I have also picked up the presence of a very deadly spirit that subtly creeps in among the brethren like a virus resulting Dis-Stress, Dis-Interest and Dis-Spiritedness in the house of faith.

The manifestation of this spirit is quite evident: the obvious evidence is that when infected, a brother or sister will slow down on the work of God, their zeal will be so eaten up, their motivation for God suddenly dries up and everything becomes so boring and meaningless. Or even if not meaningless, one is left without the drive to be involved in the work of God. And especially so when there is nothing "emotionally high!", or "physical!" or exciting!. Everything, yes everything to such a believer henceforth depends on how i feel or if i am available even though, God did speak in the first place.

Because of this, such a brother or sister now needs the Pastor, or another saint to come with a "word of God" to PUSH you to do what God initially asked you to do. Friends in such a case, without beating about the bush, WHAT WE BEGIN DEALING WITH IS OUTRIGHT DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD or the Move of God! For why would you now want to be encouraged when God already spoke in the first place? Many a saints find themselves in such circumstances often. And sad to say too, many churches have to deal with this spirit. The sad thing though is that even Pastors are being infected. So it is very Serious!

Friends, honestly, don’t we know better? Why do we want to end in the flesh? I think it is in this spirit that Paul paused the soul searching question to the Galatian Christians in his question "Who has bewitched you... you started in the spirit but you now want to end in the flesh" [Galatians 3:1-3].

Reminds me of the tine Jesus healed a mute and demon possessed man and after going through the villages and cites he perceived the hearts of the people and felt compassion upon them for they were dispirited and distressed like sheep without a shepherd. Then he gave the charge for us to Beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers" [See Luke 9:35-38].

Friends, do you recall a time when you really were upbeat about something and then all over sudden your energy for the same thing just died off? Then like an inflated balloon you all over sudden felt deenergized? Now that is the manifestation of this deadly spirit. Or asked differently, why do i have to now remind to love God?, Serve God, go to a Prayer meeting or simply stated ... walk with God? How come you don’t feel loved by God anymore? ama how come you are not motivated for God kama hapo kitambo?

Remember Jesus parable of the sower who went out to sow? Now remember how in the story some seeds fell into the good soil, however, there were thorns that chocked the seeds? Friends in this whole story, we must always remember that while there was nothing wrong with the SEED, the growth of the seed was contingent upon the conditions that favored the growth of the scattered seed. So what conditions are we allowing the SEED to grow in us?

Also do you remember how Moses saw the burning bush and then from the bush heard the voice of God? Let me add too that seeing "burning bushes" was not uncommon at all. Infact those who study the bible tell us that wild bush fires were very common in the wilderness. And if this is true, then we are safe to assume that Moses must have seen many such "fires". However in the case of Exodus 3, there was something unique about this fire vis a vis: It was "burning but not getting consumed"... because the Fire was the Physical Manifestation of God Himself!

Now friends, many of us are indeed seeking the fire of God in our lives, in our families, in our ministries and all. And all around us there seem to be so many fires that we either see or hear about and peradventure many of you too have "hoped" from place to place to trying to catch or if you would - investigate the fires only to be frustrated that these fires were just the kawaida bush fires. I’m sure Moses must have gone through similar experiences when he begun shepherding Jethro's sheep in the wilderness of Midian... Till he became accustomed to these bush fires.

Notwithstanding though, with this fire, the bush was burning but not getting consumed, in other words, the bush was not being destroyed. The bush was only enabling the fire, but the fire was of itself and for itself. What i mean is that the fire was God! And as such it did not need to depend on the elements of the bush, instead it only used the bush as a physical manifestation of the spiritual reality present at that particular place and time!

It is the uniqueness of this phenomenon that obviously made Moses to want to go investigate the mystery of the fire. It was also evident to Moses that while the manifestation of the fire was similar to the bush fires, yet there was something peculiar about the fire. Ofcourse we know the end of the story... God was revealing Godself to Moses in the Hiding. This is very interesting saints, for God always reveals Godself in the Hiding thus allowing you the blessed opportunity to go and investigate!

Beloved, now do you recall seeing a Real Burning Bush of God, then as you approached it, you somehow gave up? and yet you had previously been prompted to commit yourself to being part of the fire of God? Can you honestly tell me ... kweli what happened to you that you are no longer pursuing that Fire of God? How come your Zeal and Fervency for God is so low and you are so disinterested, demotivated or dispirited? I think I know the reason, In your Quest, you must have allowed the enemy to plant in you that deadly "virus" spirit that eats up the promptings of God in you. And so now what is left of you is just the manifestation of flesh! This is what must have happened to the Galatian Brethren.

Let’s hit home, how is your prayer life? Now where is your Zeal, where is the fire of God? How come you have become complacent and familiar with the things of God? Honestly where is God in you? And what about the Power of God in you?

Let me punch it even further, how come that you now have to be "encouraged", "motivated" or "rebuked" so as to attend a Prayer meeting, a Bible Study, or a Worship service, and what about the Pastors meeting or the Convention, mhhh the list is endless what about attending the Prayer gathering or that Kesha? don’t you see what is happening? You are being infected by that deadly "virus" spirit of the enemy!

So then, what is your remedy? Amuka, remove your shoes and listen to the voice of God for He has come down to commission you for a God given, God empowered task! Ohh that Just like Moses, you will now hear God speaking to you halafu, you will leave there knowing that God spoke and so you don’t need another "burning bush" experience, for you are a saint of faith, who trusts the voice of God whether there is a brother or a sister to encourage you or not! Infact don’t you think that you should carry the fire with you in your commission and mission for remember "God's Vision is Our Mission" Amen and Amen!

Always His,

Bishop Dagi
