Article 4 Something for Nothing Beloved Saints, Praise God and just how are you? It’s quite a while since I last wrote you and many have been asking me what happened or “isn’t the Lord saying anything?” Well, I’m pleased to let you know that I am well and I can be most honest with you and confess that I have been undergoing a MOST Intense and Unexplainable hunger and thirst for God and God’s Presence. For somehow the more I seek hard after God, the more I hunger … the more the pain in my soul intensifies for more of the Presence of God. Does this make sense to you? Well it’s like this Saints, the more I look at the state of the Church in the world today the more the need for God increases in me. Yes it is true that we have servants of God that are faithful and presenting the oracles of God, LAKINI there still seems to be something that we seem to lack and deep deep down in me there is an intense quest for God to REVEAL and MAKE HIMSELF KNOWN in Power and Majesty not known or seen by humanity! Ohh the pain is just so real and intense and honestly it is driving me into unspeakable travailing state of intense quest for God’s Presence --- and somehow I do believe that soon I will get the Breakthrough I am seeking … but again saint, I don’t even know what I am seeking apart from that I AM SEEKING THE PRESENCE of God in a much more powerful and dynamic dimension than we’ve ever experienced or known in Church History! And as I go through the “emptiness” of my spiritual quest, the Spirit is always making it known to me that I am not alone. Ohh Yes, there are saints scattered out there that are going through a similar unspeakable quest of and for the presence of God like never before. And do you know what, we are not alone for according to History, whenever God moved mightily, it seems that His Move was always preceded by an empty phase of “emptiness” [I use the word emptiness for lack of a better verb to describe what I am going through] Maybe I should use some examples from scripture to illustrate this void - barren - empty - wilderness! In Genesis 1:1, we read that in the beginning, even before anything was formed: THE WORLD WAS FORMLESS AND VOID, AND DARKNESS HOVERED OVER THE DEPTHS OF THE DEEP. Wow! That’s a loaded statement right there, so lets revisit it again: 1. The earth was Formless 2. The earth was Void and 3. There was Darkness over the deep! These three “states” are quite loaded! But saints don’t these “states” in a sense describe the state in which God needs to ACT UPON like He did in Genesis 1:1? Beloved, think of the Formlessness of our various situations, think of the Voidness that we are experiencing both spiritually and physically and finally think of the “Darkness” surrounding our very lives even though we are living in the very Will of God! Don’t we surely need a Great Intervention! … I just love what the verse says …that amidst the formlessness, voidness and darkness --- the Spirit of the Lord was Moving ….. and as the Spirit is moving, God is introduced as Elohim: which means, God the Creator in Action whereby God as CREATOR causes the formlessness, void and the darkness to disappear by CREATING creation Exnihilo -- FROM NOTHING TO SOMETHING! Friends, I believe that once again Today, the Spirit is also MOVING among His servants, to Create that which is not known so as to dispel present day formlessness, void and darkness. Friends, one way God causes His creation Power to manifest “from nothing to something” is by first causing His Spirit to MOVE which in turn causes us to experience spiritual agonizing promptings for God’s Presence and His Move! Remember Moses in the Wilderness, and how about Paul in the Desert of Arabia, and then what about the Scottish Minister John Knox who seeing the magnitude of sin in his home country cried unto God saying “God give me Scotland or I die!” Now we know that his prayer was also the same prayer that was prayed by a Rachael – A woman deeply troubled for her state of Barrenness! [Genesis 30:1] Yes Barrenness is a good picture of the Spiritual PAIN and Agony I am tying to describe to you. Yet even in our state of barrenness, are we able to respond to God “Give me ___ or I die” or … God come down or we Perish! Mhhh ohh help me cry saints … Lord give us a new Refreshing Visitation or we Die! Ohh Lord Restore your Presence or we Die! Ohh God “Give us Yourself” or we die! Saints, it seems to me that in the history of Revival and/or Divine Visitations, GOD moved God’s people to FIRST Cry, Pray, and TRAVIAL Earnestly IN THE SPIRIT with Groanings as Rachael cried …. Give me or I die! Are you and I experiencing a Barrenness??? Ohh fellow Pastors, do you sense the Barrenness our people are going through?? Ohh that God will cause us to diligently seek hard after God and God’s Presence in our lifetime! Ohh the thirst and hunger in my soul!! Who can help me saints??? Who will stand in the Gap for God in our generation????? Did you also notice that when Israel prayed, - they always recognized their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? But Saints, have you ever considered that all these three fore fathers had wives that were Barren??? YESSSSSSSS!!! All three Great Patriarchs mightily used by God but all Three with a “God Caused Bareness” that required that they all call upon the Lord for the Lord to cause a blessed child [or children] of PROMSE to be born! Let’s digest this for a second by beginning with Sarah. Now God speaks to Abraham and makes known His plan of salvation and how He was going to use Abraham to bring His will into fruition. And so under God’s directive, Abraham changes his wife’s name from Sarai to Sarah which means “mother of many” and yet God Sarah remained BARREN! For God did not give Sarah the child of promise until much later [Genesis 15; 17:15-19; 18:9-15]. Indeed only after Abraham and Sarah petitioned God did God double confirm His promise to Sarah! Likewise, could it be true that even though God has indeed spoken Revival to our Generation, we still need to Trust and PETITION God concerning the same for indeed we are in a Barren Situation like Sarah was? And what about Isaac and His wife Rebecca [Genesis 25:21-34] Saints, why does God have to do it this way?? Why does Barrenness have to precede the fulfillment of His Mighty Move? Could it be that as Necessity is to Invention” so goes Barrenness to Revival! Beloved, God is posed to move greatly this New Year for indeed this is the year of Double Favor [2005], however Saints, let us not deceive ourselves that this will just happen without us begin faithful in fulfilling our roles as God’s chosen vessels in this great Move. Ohh yes, this in part explains why He positioned you and I where we are so that we can Stand Up in the gap for Him. In Isaiah 6, when Isaiah saw Him - he also heard the “wounded heart of God crying” WHOM SHALL WE SEND, WHO WILL GO FOR US” As I pen off, I pray that may you like Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane be “Deeply Grieved even unto Death!” so that like a wounded Barren woman cry be desperately moved to pray “God to give me a “child” or I die!” Ohh that God may quench this thirsting of my soul! Saints, lets therefore “DIE SO THAT WE CAN PRODUCE” Oh yes Help me Call upon the Name of the Lord so that He may come down to remove our shame and barrenness! Thanks for now, I remain His servant,
