Article 16 In One Accord By Bishop Dr. Douglas Muchiri Beloved Saints, When God completed creating the universe, He beheld everything and said, “It is very Good” [See Genesis 1:31]. That it was very good speaks of the beauty and the harmony of God’s Creation at that point in time. However immediately thereafter, the enemy of God came and corrupted this beauty and harmony by deceiving Adam and Eve. And through their fall, Adam and Eve sinned and henceforth the original beauty and harmony was corrupted or altogether lost. Throughout history, the enemies of God have continued to fight against or thwart anything of God and especially as regards to oneness, unity and harmony. It is not surprising then that as Jesus completed His work on earth, the only prayer He could offer for us was THAT WE MAY BE ONE [John 17:21]… so far the impact of this prayer has never been realized since the body of Christ continues to be divided! Although from a negative perspective, the unity exhibited at the building of the tower of Babel demonstrates the power of one accord for at that time God spoke and said “Behold they are one people, and they have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them” [Genesis 11:6]. This one incident shows that there is power in unity of oneness and that is why the enemy fights tooth and nail to see that we as God’s children are divided and scattered! What a shame it is that we as the children of light, yes the very children of God would allow ourselves to be divided, sifted and scattered so that we end up missing out on God. Jesus commanded His disciples to go await the gift of the Holy Spirit for He was indeed going to send the Promise. It was as the disciples waited that they gave themselves to prayer and fasting, reading God’s word and fellowship … all of which helped create UNITY in one accord. For as they continued to abide in one accord, the fire of God fell down on the day of Pentecost. One would expect that since the Holy Spirit had fallen now the church would all be in harmony but friends, despite the Holy Ghost being given, the church continued to face untold attacks both from within and without. And although no attack is good, yet it is those internal attacks that cause much damage to the kingdom of God. Because attacks within the body of Christ attack the very spirit of God in us causing us to either quench and hinder the move God. This is the reason why the first church continued to pray and allow the Spirit of God to lead and direct them always. Beloved, Christ still believes in unity and charges us to be One just as He and the Father are one. Will we? This year Pentecostals and Charismatics all over the world are celebrating 100years since the Asuza Outpouring of the Holy Ghost. In thinking of Asuza, let us be reminded that the leader of this movement, William Seymore was a very humble man of God who despite being Black, went ahead and allowed all people Whites, Blacks, Mexicans etc to come fellowship in his humble church. The bond of unity was so strong among them that despite the politics of segregation prevalent in that time, this group of people still stuck out together seeking hard after God in One Accord. The result of which was the birth of the outpouring of what we now refer to as the Pentecostal Movement in the world. Oh how I pray that the same spirit of unity and oneness would prevail among our people today! In 2003, the Lord laid upon me to birth the movement in the US that would bring Kenyans together in one accord the result of which is what we now refer to as ASCA: The spirit of oneness in prayer, fasting, sacrificial worship and holiness would characterize the coming together of these Kenyans. What happened last year in Delaware is a sure testimony of what God can do when brethren dwell together in unity. Now once again in April 28th. 29th and 30th while the rest of the world gathers in California for the Asuza Celebrations, the Saints of God in ASCA will be meeting in New Jersey for the ASCA National Convention. The exact venue is Manville High School, 1100 Brooks Blvd. Manville NJ 08835. The Focus of this Convention is Prayer “If my people Pray” and for this reason, we have invited a man of God mightily used by God in the area of Prayer and Intercession from Uganda by the name of Apostle Aloysius Kiiza. Ohh friends, you do not want to miss out. We have also invited another man of God mighty used by God in the area of Faith from Nairobi by the name Bishop Jonah Obonyo. Ohh beloved, then with all of us Prayerers congregating in Jersey and with God’s Presence among us, I can assure you that this convention will be a Fire Conference! I strongly therefore urge all of you to please make plans to attend and let us all together in One Accord call upon the Name of the Lord together so that He may Save us and Revive us.
